Orville L. Bondoc is Professor of Animal Breeding/Genetics at the Animal and Dairy Sciences Cluster, College of Agriculture, University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB). He finished his BS (Agriculture) and MSc (Animal Science) degrees from UPLB in 1983 and 1987, respectively; and PhD in Animal Breeding/Genetics from the University of Guelph, Canada in 1991. Dr. Bondoc teaches undergraduate and graduate courses on animal breeding, animal genetic resources, research methods, and dairy production at UPLB. He was Visiting Professor at the Department of Animal Life and Resources, College of Agricultural Life Science, Hankyong National University, South Korea in 2006 and at the Food Security Center and the Institute of Animal Production for the Tropics and Subtropics, University of Hohenheim, Stuttgart, Germany in 2011–2012. Dr. Bondoc has published more than 85 peer-reviewed articles in local and international scientific journals and has authored three books. He is a SEARCA Regional Professorial Chair for AY 2014/2015 for his research “Organic Livestock Farming and Breeding Towards Food Security of Smallholder Farmers in the Tropics.”
